Self-contained module is ready to install in your small-pin AR and deliver an exceptionally smooth, crisp, creep-free single-stage trigger pull that feels more like a traditional bolt action than a combat rifle trigger. 100% drop-in—no gunsmithing, fitting, or adjusting required. All components are captive in the lightweight, aluminum alloy housing. Hammer is wire-EDM machined from S7 tool steel that combines hardness to resist wear with superior impact resistance to withstand heavy use without chipping or breaking. Other components are EDM cut from A2 tool steel, then heat treated to Rc 56-60 for long service life. Precision-ground engagement surfaces ensure superb reliability and a crisp, clean hammer release. Installs using your rifle’s original hammer/trigger pins; proprietary design eliminates pin walkout. Available with standard solid trigger shoe with choice of 3 lb, 4 lb. or 4.5 lb. pull weight.

Since it was founded in 1946, Timney Triggers has built a reputation based on the quality of its products. Because of the precision machining and workmanship that goes into each Timney product they are The World's Finest Triggers.™ Each and every Timney Trigger is individually tested and calibrated by hand in the action it was designed for before it's delivered to the customer's door.

What Is Trigger Pull weight?

Pull weight is the amount of force, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle. Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.

If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.
The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.

Below is a guide for pull weight selection:

2-2.5 pounds
Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.

3-3.5 pounds
By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.

4.0 pounds+
Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.

Timney AR-15 Triggers are designed to fit all mil-spec AR-15/ M4 platforms, including the large pin Colt Rifles made in the 90’s

I bought one about a month ago, was very impressed with everything about it, and just received a second one. Well worth the money. I need just one more, but it will have to wait a bit.

Timney triggers are top of the line and will really make a difference in the performance of your shooting. If you have any doubt on whether or not to buy a Timney Trigger just do it! You won't be sorry!

    3-gun trigger

I normally shoot bench, so having a light/crisp trigger is a big deal for me. Doesn't even feel like a 3# pull. Excellent trigger. Improves accuracy....a must for AR shooters from the bench.

I purchased the AR-15 COMPETITION TRIGGER and the AR 49ER Safety Selector to upgrade my M&P 15 Sport. I couldn't be more satisfied. The AR-15 COMPETITION TRIGGER fit the lower receiver perfectly. The directions and installation video were helpful and made the process easy. The Trigger is of solid construction and the 3lb trigger pull is outstanding. I have put about 500 rounds through it and it is amazing how much accuracy has increased and trigger finger fatigue has decreased. The AR 49ER Safety Selector was an easy install with the Trigger and works flawlessly and also fits the lower receiver perfectly. Lastely, the customer service is excellent and delivery of the above was fast and on time.

    3 pound Competition At Triggers

Posted by Jimmy Hobgood on Oct 7th 2019

These triggers are primo, the last few Ar’s I’ve built all have Timneys in them and I’ll always come back. They are crisp and minimal overtravel, and they are totally predictable and controllable. I use both straight and curved and can switch from one to the other without guessing how they are going to react. A #1 trigger for me!!!

    Make Shooting Crisp again

Posted by Alex Kant on Sep 23rd 2019

Install took me about 15 minutes from disassembly to assembly. I’ve never had aftermarket triggers before, I’ve usually just used what came with a rifle and lived with it but damn. As impressed as I was with the Sig Tread from the factory the Comp Trigger turned it into a whole new animal. I’ve only shot maybe 100rds with it so far and have had no issues. I use that rifle for everything (hunting, trapping, plinking, sport) crisp, no creep, I’m recommending this to everyone I know.

    AR-15 Competition Trigger

The AR-15 Competition Trigger is very good. The trigger has a very crisp clean break and is substantially better than other triggers I've used. The reset is short and quite nice. The trigger was very natural with absolutely no fuss. I also really like that it's housed in one unit so I don't have to mess with installing the stock AR-15 trigger group and springs manually. No possibility of making an error during installation.

    Two points of feedback.

    1) It would be helpful if the site explained the difference between the large pin and small pin sizes. I have not heard of that before and had to google it. A note saying something like "Pick the small pins unless you have one of the rare Colts" would have been helpful.

    2) The installation instructions are good, but could be made a little clearer. I had some trouble understanding what was being asked of me in the section where it says to tighten the locking screws. Color photographs would be of help here. The black and white photos are a bit difficult to make out in this section.
