The Timney 2-Stage trigger is the latest model in that series. The pull weight is 1 lb on the first stage and from 1 to 3 lbs of pull weight on the second stage.

The 2-Stage trigger features machined and hardened steel work surfaces milled from A2 tool steel and all three sears are Teflon-nickel coated for added lubricity. The trigger housing and shoe are CNC machined using state-of-the-art robotics and the sears are EDM cut from high-grade solid steel. The trigger housing utilizes an anodized aluminum body and the trigger shoe and safety are carbon nitrided which dramatically increases the surface hardness and wear-resistance properties of the metal.

The Timney 2 Stage Straight Trigger is easily installed with no screws, drilling, or tapping required. By simply removing existing pins, replacing trigger, and inserting existing pins anyone can replace a trigger on their Remington 700.

Since it was founded in 1946, Timney Triggers has built a reputation based on the quality of its products. Because of the precision machining and workmanship that goes into each Timney product they are The World's Finest Triggers.™ Each and every Timney Trigger is individually tested and calibrated by hand in the action it was designed for before it's delivered to the customer's door.

What Is Trigger Pull weight?

Pull weight is the amount of force, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle. Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.

If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.
The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.

Below is a guide for pull weight selection:

2-2.5 pounds
Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.

3-3.5 pounds
By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.

4.0 pounds+
Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.

    Timney 2 stage trigger

I bought this trigger about a month ago but have just now had a chance to install and fire it. I love this trigger. I installed it on my varmint rifle in 22-250 and am planning to get another one for my 270. The first stage is just the right pull weight and when you are just oh so comfortable on the trigger, the second stage breaks and you usually hit what you are shooting. Awesome. Wish I had done this years ago.

    Very NICE!

Had to do some tweaking to get the bolt release to work but that took less than a minute and it is mentioned in the installation instructions. I'm 100% sold on these triggers. I've got another 700 and I'll be dropping a Timney trigger in my ARs soon as well! Love it!!!

Easy install. Works beautifully. Some difficulty adjusting the bolt release. Not a lot of adjustment.

    Timney 2 stage trigger

Just installed the Timney 533 2 stage trigger in my 260 Rem. Got to tell ya I was getting a bit frustrated the groups I was shooting and while I still need a lot of trigger time. This Timney lived up to the hype. my control and groups are tighter. when this trigger breaks its like hitting the perfict golf shot, you don't even have to look at the green/target you already know the results.

    Should have done it sooner

My remington CDL 700 was subject to the recall trigger problem. Rather than send it off I opted to order a Timney and replace it myself and at the same time replace the bottom metal with a Pacific tool and gage stainless oberndorf. This trigger was installed with the new bottom metal onto my H-S precision stock. I had to cut off the straight trigger a bit to fit in the trigger loop, and i had to dremel a small radius in the bottom metal for the safety area to clear, but this is to be expected with custom stock, bottom metal and the straight trigger. The two stage operation is really nice, this trigger surpassed my expectations as did customer service when i called to ask questions. Going from the stock brick wall remington trigger to this timney closed up a half inch off my groups at 100 yards. I will scrap and replace any remingtons trigger with this one from here on out. Worth every dollar paid.

Easily installed, perfect fit. This trigger operates perfectly right out of the "box". THe factor setting we to my liking. I did access the adjustments and they are as described and easily adjusted.
