What Is Trigger Pull weight?

Pull weight is the amount of force, in ounces or pounds, required to fire the trigger. Or in other words, how hard you have to squeeze the trigger to shoot your rifle. Timney Trigger experts at our Phoenix, Arizona plant hand-test every trigger in its intended action and then set the pull weight at our factory standard, 3 lbs.

If you prefer a different pull weight you simply select it from the drop down above and your Timney Trigger will be customized to your preference.
The #1 reason to replace your factory trigger with a Timney is accuracy. A lighter, crisper, more consistent trigger pull will make you more accurate with your firearm.

Below is a guide for pull weight selection:

2-2.5 pounds
Light trigger pull weights are great for people shooting lighter weight rifles as they can help keep you on target during the shot. Also common weights for target shooting from a bench.

3-3.5 pounds
By far the most common trigger pull weights -this is great for virtually all applications including target shooting, hunting and 3-gun competitions.

4.0 pounds+
Heavy trigger pull weights are good for cold weather hunting or applications where you may be shooting with gloves on.

    Trigger w/safety

Posted by alan on Apr 22nd 2020

It does take some dremel work especially with a fiberglas stock but it is worth the trouble. I only gave it a 4 rating as I haven't had a chance to fire it yet.

Purchased this item for my Mosin M39.

Instructions indicate you will need to do some Dremel tool work to get a proper fit. This isn't wrong. This took a LOT of Dremel tool work. If you're patient and follow the instructions precisely, you will be successful and will have a great trigger in your firearm. Be patient !

Tremendous amount of woodworking to fit it, but once in, it is a dream to shoot.

    Timney for the win

Posted by James Lique on Jun 21st 2019

THIS is the trigger the Russians should have had on the Mosin Nagant. It's fully adjustable and easily installed. It's easier, in fact, than reinstalling a factory trigger. The only thing that need be done is to inlet the stock for the added safety switch, which is also well executed. If you're customizing a Mosin Nagant and you don't get a Timney Trigger, you're wasting your time and money.

    Timney Trigger for Moisin Nagant

Posted by RICKEY LONG on Mar 14th 2019

Received my new Timney Trigger 2.0 (#2 pound). Perfecrt fit and dropped right into my Archangel Stock. No cut and fit needed. This makes the 3rd Timney Trigger I have bought and I do plan on additional purchases. Definitely recommend.

    As advertised, and more ...

I was a sniper in Vietnam with the 101st, and have stayed an active shooter, since that time. I bought a 1929 Model 91/30 Mosin-Nagant, and wanted to modernize it. The trigger pull on the original was atrocious (about an inch, with 8-10 pounds of pull). I got the Timney trigger, to install with the Archangel stock (which is already inletted).
Installation was simple, and went easily. The instructions worked perfectly, and the trigger pull (only two pounds) is perfect.
I'm now getting astounding groupings with this rifle, at ranges up to 1000 yards (using a bipod). I would recommend Timney triggers for any serious firearms enthusiast.
