Ruger 10/22® Replacement Trigger

Mar 9th 2022

Like Timney Triggers, Ruger was started shortly after World War II by a person who had a big idea and a passion for firearms. In 1949, in Southport, Connecticut, William B. Ruger and Alexander McCormick Sturm came together to create America’s newest firearms manufacturer: Sturm, Ruger & Company, better known as “Ruger”. William Ruger was the technical gunsmith and business brain in the organization, while Alexander Sturm was the financial backing necessary to start the business. The first firearm that Ruger created was a semi-automatic .22 caliber pistol, which was the first of its kind to be commercially sold. The pistol was such a hit that it singlehandedly launched the entire company. However, though Ruger’s first pistol aided in the business’s start, it wasn’t until 1964 that they would design the firearm that transformed Ruger into the lead firearms manufacturer in the United States.

In 1964, Ruger released the iconic 10/22 rimfire rifle, and it immediately gained traction. The rifle was sought after by both target shooters and hunters due to the fact that it was a high quality rifle that was set at a very affordable cost point (similar to our Impact Trigger…). The Ruger 10/22 rifle quickly became one of the most popular target shooting and small game hunting rifles, and remains a top seller to this day. Due to its high popularity, many companies have created aftermarket parts for the rifle, so 10/22 owners are able to customize their rifle until it fits their needs. Our customers had been asking for a replacement trigger for their Ruger 10/22s and after some tinkering Timney finally made a customizable Ruger 10/22 replacement trigger. You ask, we deliver.

As stated before, the 10/22 rifle is fully customizable due to the myriad of aftermarket parts for this specific rifle type. We want to make sure that your creative options don’t stop at your trigger. That is why we offer a few fun choices to help you make your trigger your own. The first option we give is simple: do you want a black or silver housing? Once you have nailed down your housing color you get to choose your trigger shoe color. Do you want black, blue, red, green, silver, or gold? The combinations are endless, but the choice is difficult. Choose wisely. Your trigger shoe color may just become your trademark among all your friends…

Everything about Timney Triggers is intentional. From the material your trigger housing is made of to the lollipop in your package, we want you to know that we care about your shooting experience. That is why our Ruger 10/22 replacement trigger is precision machined at our state-of-the-art facility in Phoenix, Arizona. The trigger is made from high quality, durable materials so you can trust that you will get a lifetime of dependability from your Timney Trigger. After being machined, our Ruger 10/22 replacement trigger parts are taken to our assemblers to be hand-assembled to excellence. After this, our testers take the fully assembled triggers and test them for any abnormalities. Once they confirm that the triggers operate at peak performance, they set the trigger pull weight at 2 ¾ pounds, test them twice more for good measure, and send them over to shipping. In shipping, the triggers are carefully placed in their packaging before being set inside their shipping box where they will meet a lollipop (the flavor is always a surprise) and a Let Go and Let God card that we have been including in our packages since the mid 1980s. After all of this, the trigger is sent off to its new home to be loved and used for years to come.

On top of being a precision made, customizable trigger, another great feature that the Ruger 10/22 replacement trigger has is all the added Timney perks you get after purchasing your trigger. Every Timney Trigger comes with our No Hassle, Legendary Lifetime Guarantee. Our guarantee states that if you run into any issues with your trigger, whether it’s during the installation period, shortly after your first use, or years after owning the trigger, we will help you find best solution for your issue.
