New Timney Triggers Featured in August Issue of American Gunsmith

Aug 23rd 2018

American Gunsmith is the definitive publication of The American Gunsmithing Association. Each month’s issue offers a comprehensive review of the latest firearms industry developments, including DIY repair tips and new releases. In the August issue, editor John M. Buol Jr. dedicated “The Editor’s File” to Timney Triggers’ Calvin Elite and MPX triggers.

About the Calvin Elite, Buol focused on the trigger’s quality construction and industry-leading customization:

  • One-piece complete trigger assembly
  • Constructed of CNC machined aircraft-grade billet aluminum
  • Trigger, sear, and hammer are wire EDM cut and heat-treated
  • Easy installation by pushing out two action pins in the Ruger
  • One-finger operation of the extended magazine release

  • Buol also discussed the Calvin Elite’s trigger pull and variety of shoes as well as the inclusion of all necessary tools to fit and adjust the shoes.

Concerning the MPX trigger, Buol highlighted its curved and straight shoe options. This trigger is also heat-treated but is made of steel vs. aluminum. The housing is machined 6061, T6 anodized alloy, and the trigger is factory-calibrated.

Buol also stressed that the MPX can be dropped in without any fitting or adjusting.

Overall, the Calvin Elite and MPX reviews drew attention to each trigger’s specs, quality, and ease of use. Our triggers also kicked off the August issue on a high note.
